The Spy Who Dumped Me Review

4/10

Although Kunis and McKinnon’s sterling attempt at keeping this movie afloat didn’t quite go to plan, I cannot dispute how hard they tried, but unfortunately, due to the lacklustre script, weak espionage plot, little to no character development, and jokes that fail to hit the mark time and time again, this film is one that will be quickly forgotten.

Where the plot and most of the jokes fell flat, the majority of action sequences were actually pretty well done, the use of blood, gun-fights and some stunts stand out amongst a mess of mediocrity, but, it’s the chemistry between the two female leads, Kunis and McKinnon, that keep the energy flowing.

For one brief moment it was a raunchy comedy. Then it was a spy thriller. Then it was a buddy flick. Then it became apparent that it wasn’t interesting no matter what it tried to do, and what’s worse than that, is it’s filled to the brim with some of the most ridiculous scenarios I’ve ever seen, rendering this a dumb waste of time! Skip it!
